DOLPHINS IN VENICE

During the height of the COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020 the world came to a standstill. With cities empty and quiet, the natural world began to reclaim the spaces left behind by human activity. In Venice, Italy, reports emerged of dolphins swimming in the canals, a rare and beautiful sight that captured the imagination of people around the world.

In this artwork, we see a dolphin leaping out of the water in front of the iconic Rialto Bridge, one of the most famous landmarks in Venice. Against the backdrop of the shimmering water and the ornate architecture, the dolphin’s graceful movement and playful energy seem to embody the spirit of hope and resilience that emerged during this challenging time.

As we contemplate this image, we are reminded of the delicate balance between human civilization and the natural world, and the profound impact that our actions can have on the environment around us. We are also reminded of the incredible resilience of nature, and its ability to adapt and thrive in the face of adversity.

Above all, this artwork invites us to celebrate the beauty and diversity of the world around us, and to cherish the moments of wonder and joy that can arise when we least expect them. For even in the midst of chaos and uncertainty, there is always the possibility of new life and new beginnings, if only we are willing to open our hearts and embrace the unknown
